Heat (or warmth) is well known for its soothing and relaxing effect and is one of mankind's basic needs to function properly.
In addition, heat has long been used as an effective form of therapy, even in prehistoric times. While the overall qualities of warmth is associated with comfort and relaxation, heat therapy goes a step further and can provide both pain relief and healing benefits for many types of lower back pain. Nowadays, heat therapy can be provided quickly and inexpensively – in the form of electric heating pads, which can be applied safely to the affected areas.
Microlife's Flexible Heating product range offers an easy and convenient solution for comfortable and soothing heat, while incorporation of the latest technology ensures the highest safety levels at the lowest electromagnetic radiation.
Depending on the type of usage it may take up to 15 minutes after turning on at the highest setting for the heating pad to get noticeably warm. Clothing, covers and the padding of the heating pad itself insulate the heat and contribute to this gradual warming effect.
Ambient conditions such as room temperature, mattress and bedclothes directly influence heat distribution. Under some circumstances it may take up to thirty minutes after turning on until the electric blanket gets noticeably warm. In order to avoid the escape of heat, the electric blanket has to be covered completely.
Maximum attainable temperature depends on many factors. Amongst other things, these factors include the type of product (heating pad or electric blanket), its finish (e.g. with or without padding, cover) and room temperature. Consequently, no absolute final temperature can be defined.
Temperature differences between individual heating settings are +/- 8° C. In addition, ambient conditions and type of usage affect the speed of the temperature increase or decrease. Due to both circumstances, temperature differences of the individual heating settings are barely noticeable.
Due to the incorporation of flexible cabling, containing an overheating protection as well as proven safety materials and low EMF, it is guaranteed that the heating pad or electric blanket does not present a source of danger if used correctly. The pads and blankets are designed to provide you with safe, fast and constant heat wherever and in the exact place you need it.
Electromagnetic fields are invisible force fields which surround every electrical device. Current investigations indicate these may be a potential detriment to health. Thanks to their unique technology, Microlife's heating pads and electric blankets produce very little electromagnetic radiation, are extremely safe to use and pose no risk to health.
Electric and magnetic fields (EMF) are invisible lines of force that surround any electrical device. Power lines, electrical wiring, and electrical equipment all produce EMF. Electric fields are produced by voltage that increases in strength as the voltage increases. Magnetic fields result from the flow of current through wires or electrical devices and increase in strength as the current increases.
